GoodWood NYC

Saw this on Kanye's blog and he was saying not to support fakes. I agree with not supporting fakes, but since these Jesus pieces are made of wood it's kinda not fake. Of course the original pieces are made with real diamonds, etc. but for the average dude this is a steal without rocking fake sh*t. Check it out for yourself...

"WOW" PHOTOS.... BY ERWIN OLAF

Saw these photos on KANYE'S BLOG and they definitely caught my eye, so I figured to share. Some nudity, but these images are quite interesting. The following comes from Kanye's blog...

Born in Hilversum in the Netherlands in 1959, Erwin Olaf lives and works in Amsterdam since the early 80's. His current studio is situated in a former church hall.

Mixing photojournalism with studio photography, Olaf emerged in the international art scene in 1988 when his series 'Chessmen' was awarded the first prize in the Young European Photographer competition. This award was followed by an exhibition at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany. Since then Olaf has continued to explore issues of gender, sensuality, humor, despair and grace in each successive series.

NEW HOBBY?

I'm always talking about how I need a new hobby, but I ignored the most common hobby of them all (Reading). Reading is knowledge and the more I get exposed to the many aspects of life I begin to realize that your future is heavily based on your knowledge & knowledge of self. With that being said I'm going to step my reading game up by getting John Wray's Lowboy and Kanye West X J. Sakiya Sandifer's Thank You and You're Welcome.

COMPLEX: Keri Hilson X KiD CuDi

Complex was already one of my fav magz to begin with, but this issue was off the chain. I had forgot that it came out until I scooped it from my Pop's barbershop. One good thing about being the son of a barber (other than free cuts) is you get free magz. The drawings (especially Kid Cudi's) are very creative. Also the interviews of both K.Hilson and Cudi provide info that you may not have known before. Great issue! (Hope I don't get sued for taking these pics...but then again they will have to look pretty hard to find this. Lol.)

DIME MAGAZINE'S TOP 50 SNEAKER STORES: PREMIUM GOODS

Houston's first sneaker boutique, Premium Goods, was featured in Dime Magazine's "Top 50 Sneaker Stores" with a #44 ranking. 44/50 doesn't sound too hot off top, but keep in mind that this ranking is world-wide and not nationally ranked. If you haven't been to Premium Goods be sure to check it out if you are in the Rice Village area.

You guys can check out the Dime Magazine article HERE.

KANYE WEST X BRAND JORDAN = [FALSE]

Earlier this week Mediatakeout.com reported that Kanye West was rumored to start designing for Brand Jordan as he did for Nike. That rumor was put to rest today by Mr. West on his blog. Therefore, there will not be any collab between Kanye X Brand Jordan. I heard about it yesterday and I got hella excited about the possibility, but I knew it was a good chance of being false.

YOU BE THE JUDGE

Word to Nicekicks.com for coming up with this idea first (I thought I had something new *snaps fingers*). Anywho, I have seen quite a few pics of celebrities who have been rocking the Air Yeezy's, so I thought it would be cool to post some pics of some celebrities rocking the same sneaker and see who rock'd it better on that particular day that the photo was taken.

Each one of the following musicians are rocking the Nike Air Yeezy "Zen Grey". I have my vote...you be the judge!

In order clockwise:

1. Kanye West
2. Jay-Z
3. Common
4. Pete Wentz (Fallout Boy)

osneaker.com

osneaker.com

I might be late- might not be, but I came across another sneaker site that is legit (100% Authentic). I hate fake shoes with a passion so when I find a legit sneaker site I instantly bookmark it. So, "Your welcome" in advance lol.

"IT'S A MUST THAT I ADDRESS THIS"

Hello people,

It was a must that I addressed this issue on my blog. Yesterday a friend told me to check out Concreteloop.com to look at Rihanna's new haircut. I believe the hairdo is a good look for Rihanna, but I also believe that she is one of few exceptions to the hairdo. After browsing through the site I came across Solange Knowles' new haircut as well. I will be totally honest, the first thing that came to mind was "WHAT THE HELL IS SOLANGE THINKING?" Instantly making a JUDGEMENT from her appearance. After I read her twitter comments concerning her new hair style (which you can read below) I began to realize exactly what she was thinking..."BE YOURSELF".

SOLANGE'S TWITTER COMMENTS: "listen. if. i. wanted. to. make. a. statement. i. would. have. twitpic’d. photo shoot. ect. i. was. simply. taking. my. son. to. school. stupid. paps. took. pic. ive. had. my. hair. cut. like. this. for. two. weeks. i. was. NOT. inspired. by anyone. but. my. self. i. have. done. this. twice. in. my. life. i. was 16. i was 18. did. not care about your opinion. then. dont. care. now. dont. need. your. attention. or. your. co-sign. dont. want. a. edge. up. or a perm. because. im not trying. to make this 'a style' or a statement. i. just. wanted. to. be. free. from. the. bondage. that. black. women sometimes. put. on. themselves. with. hair. this. phase. of. my. life. i. want to spend . the time. the energy. and the money. on something else. not in the hair salon. im. not. mad. at . all of you. that have made your opinions known. and have sent negative. energy. my way. i expected this of you. you. have. the right to have. an opinion. so. do. i."

That's the definition of REAL TALK. So often we are quick to judge someone (myself included at times) over the smallest things that really don't mean anything at the end of the day. I have a new found respect for Ms. Knowles and her way of thinking. It amazed me when she said she cut her hair like this before when she was 16 and 18 years old. The teenage years are extremely judgmental for young women, but especially for the younger sister of Ms. Beyonce Knowles. It takes courage for a person to truly be different and block out the negative opinions of others. Solange is representing the oh' so popular slang term "DO YOU" to the fullest and I applaud her for that.

As I was reading the article about Solange on my G1, I was also listening to "Black Maybe" from Common's Finding Forever album. The lyrics (talking- not rapping) at the end of the song just happened to relate to the article. Common quoted these words:
"When we talk about black maybe
We talk about situations
Of people of color and because you are that color
You endure obstacles and opposition
And not all the time from...from other nationalities
Sometimes it come from your own kind
Or maybe even your own mind
You get judged..you get laughed at..you get looked at wrong
You get sighted for not being strong
The struggle of just being you
The struggle of just being us..black maybe"

Oh the irony. The moral of this story is......."BE YOURSELF & DO YOU".

Comme Des Garcon Clothing

Today I answered a question of mine by accident on the web. I remember seeing pics of Drake with t-shirts displaying the same logo on each of the tees. I didn't think too much about it beacause I always thought it was a brand that he was trying to build himself (see photo below).

Well, I was wrong! The name of the brand is called Comme Des Garcon. Comme des Garçons, French for "Like Boys", is a Japanese fashion label headed by Rei Kawakubo. Below are some pics of the label's pieces.

D. Wade Signs With Jordan Brand

Yesterday (July 17, 2009) Dewayne Wade made the transition from Converse to Jordan Brand. I just happened to be surfing the web this morning and came across the news at Solecollector.com. I believe this was a good move for D. Wade as he joins fellow Jordan Brand members: Carmelo Anthony, Joe Johnson, Chris Paul, Ray Allen, "RIP" Hamilton and more. The comparisons of MJ have been there for a while now, and it seems like D. Wade is seeking to solidify his role on the hardwood and in the business world as well. Looking forward to seeing what the D. Wade signature shoe will look like.

SICKENING!!!

This is one sickening picture. Not only for the fact that these Yeezy's are Fresh-2-Death, but also because I was unable to cop a pair. The 3rd release of the Air Yeezy's is probably in my Top 5 sneakers of all-time list (My personal opinion) and without a doubt one of the top sneakers to release in '09. I want these shoes so bad I often catch myself checking out Kanye's blog just to see the pics of people with their Yeezy's on (while drooling lol) and thinking "Damn these lucky bast*rds". LOL. I'll get them one day....sooner than later. Signing out- Peace.

ALI

"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." - Muhammad Ali

This quote is one of the MAJOR keys to success, along with other factors. I'm glad I came across this particular quote because it gave me personal motivation to go for what I know in my heart and don't be afraid to take a risk that you know for a fact you will regret later in life for not going with your first mind. If you take a look at the most successful people in your life I can guarantee that they have taken plenty of risks during their career, which has landed them in the positions that they are in today. Take a look at Ali in the picture above. I honestly do not know if he actually took this picture underwater or not, but the message of the picture is far beyond that. It goes to show that willingness to take risks will get you in a better place than not taking a risk at all. I encourage those out there who have dreams and aspirations to go for what you know and if that's your goal do not be afraid to go after it. Signing out.

RICK ROSS- DEEPER THAN RAP

GOOD BUY.

A little something-something that made my iTunes a bit more legit. Ross has a nice line up of tracks on here. I think he has a lot of features on this album, but the artists that he decided to collab with on the songs make sense. Can't ever knock something that makes sense lol. Plus, we already know Mr. M-I-Yayo can go hard on a track one deep (See Port of Miami and Trilla albums). Following are a few personal favorites from the album:

- Maybach Music II
- Rich Off Cocaine
- Usual Suspects
- Face

Patience & Persistence.

Patience and persistence are crucial to having longevity, according to Jay-Z in "Fade To Black" (which is always inspiring to watch). So as I sit here at work (as you can see I don't do sh*t, lol) I got to thinking about what he said. Patience is definitely key to success, but damn is it hard to keep that sh*t. Got a dude feeling like Kobe playing behind let's say MJ. Meaning, Ok I know you a beast in the game, but if (fuck that *when) a chance presents itself I'm going to be just as great if not better (Not saying Kobe is better than MJ, just trying to let ya'll know where I'm coming from). Persistence is a given. If you don't put out quality shit, your shit won't last in any industry. If you are a music artist and you don't put out legit music, it's going to be hard for you to eat. Same goes for boutiques and any other profession. So with that being said I'm going to work on my patience and let God do his work.

I'm making an effort to start blogging every week, so if you read this *thumbs up* and stay tuned. So glad I have this G1 to express myself lol. Until the next post..... Peace and be easy.

P.S. I'm still pissed I didn't get the Yeezy's. 8(
